The national capital of Delhi is heading for hot days ahead and is likely to scale 36°C soon, the highest of this season so far. A brief spell of thunderstorm possibly on March 17th night and March 18th will not subject to any change in the day temperature. The mercury is poised to rise beyond 35°C over Delhi and may touch 36°C on 21-22 March and drop thereafter.

Delhi is expected to have a thunderstorm between 17th and 19th March, with an enhanced probability on 18th March. Cessation of a thunderstorm and possibly hot days with clear weather can be expected from 24th March and later for Delhi.

Base observatory of Delhi recorded the day maximum of 34°C yesterday, a temperature 5°C above the normal. The minimum temperature of Delhi this morning was also 5°C more than the average at 18.9°C. Delhi NCR pockets will have sharp and short duration showers between 10th and 12th March with more probability on 12th March

The dry spell over the plains of North India is now coming to an end as the weather conditions have been favourable for rain and thunderstorms in many areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Western Uttar Pradesh. Rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad including Delhi.

Base observatory of Delhi, Safdarjung, recorded a day temperature of 33.9°C yesterday, 7°C above the normal value. Safdarjung temperature is the highest in the 1st week of March of the last 5 years. The day temperature in Delhi is rising for the last 3 days and will continue for the next 2-3 days to possibly reach 35°C.

Delhi beat the record to be the warmest in recent years by registering a mercury level of 32.3 degrees on the last day of the month, 7 degrees above normal. With this, the average for Delhi for the month of February 2021 turns out to be 28.2 degrees centigrade and tops the list of gruelling years of the contemporary era.

This is the normal trend for North-West India including the hills of Western Himalayas to witness a rise in minimums during the approach and passage of Western Disturbance. This time also we have seen a significant increase in day and night temperatures across North-West India. Another Western disturbance is expected to approach Jammu and Kashmir by March 2nd or 3rd.

Delhi is on a spree of torrid heat with mercury climbing for the 7th consecutive day. Base observatory of Delhi, Safdarjung, has gained over 6°C in the last one week and recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2°C yesterday, overtaking the previous day's highest of 32.5°C. This temperature is 8°C above the normal but just short of the all-time highest of 34.1°C recorded on 26th February 2006.

Delhi has gone on record of measuring the highest temperature of the last 15 years in February. Base observatory of Delhi, Safdarjung, registered a maximum temperature of 32.5°C, the highest since 2006. The meteorological office at Lodhi Road recorded 32.7°C, Narela 32.8°C and Nazafgarh breached the mark of 33°C to stay ahead with 33.3°C.

From a maximum of 26.8°C on 19th February, the temperature in Delhi shot up by 5°C on 23rd February. Base observatory of Delhi at Safdarjung clocked the day temperature of 31.5°C, about 7°C above the normal. Earlier the mercury in Delhi breached the 30°C marks on 10th February to register the highest of this season at 30.4°C.

The national capital Delhi is heading to record the warmest February in recent times. Base observatory of Delhi at Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9°C, 4°C above the normal. Ever since the mercury crossed 30°C on 10th February, Delhi has been recording the temperature above the average by 3-5°C.

Day temperatures in Delhi NCR may increase, days may become warm and day temperatures may remain above normal by 2 to 3 degree. Morning and night will remain cold for at least for the next 5 days in Delhi NCR. Therefore, we can say winters are here to stay for longer duration in the month of February for North India including Delhi NCR.

February is taken as a month of change and fluctuating weather conditions for the national capital Delhi. Delhiites can expect a pleasant week ahead with a fair amount of sunshine during the day and cool conditions in the night. Fog and mist will remain a feature on most days in the late night and early morning restricting visibility conditions in Delhi.

Base observatory of Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4°C yesterday, first time crossing threshold of 30°C in 2021. Mercury level was 7°C above the normal in Delhi and had a record diurnal variation of 20°C. In the absence of any active weather system, the national capital Delhi will observe sunny days except on 12th February.

Delhi was lashed with rain and thundershower accompanied with strong winds yesterday. Break after the first spell in the forenoon and the second one in the evening was associated with squally winds over Delhi. Weekend on 06th and 07th February will be sunny albeit with see-saw temperature profile for Delhi.

Many districts of Punjab may receive light to moderate rain and thundershower activities. Rain and thundershower activities will cover almost entire Haryana, Delhi as well as parts of West Uttar Pradesh by February 4th. East Uttar Pradesh, parts of east Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will receive rain activities between February 5th and 6th.

The cold wave has abated from Delhi and the minimum temperatures all across Delhi NCR have slipped in to double-digit. Now Delhiites can expect some showers nearly after waiting for one month. Rain and thundershower in Delhi are likely to commence tomorrow in the latter half of the day and intermittent spells will be observed in the night.

Delhi is expected to have rain on 4th and 5th February with light to moderate intensity in most pockets. Rainfall amount is likely to vary from 1-5mm in different parts of Delhi. The minimum temperature has already increased and a further rise is expected over the next 3 days. Cold wave conditions will abate and will come back in Delhi, not before Sunday.

The base observatory of Delhi, Safdarjung, recorded a minimum temperature of 5.3°C today. This is the lowest temperature for Delhi on 01st February since 2008 and therefore makes the coldest start of over a decade. Delhi is likely to witness rain between 03rd and 05th February. The reversal of winds will raise the minimum to double-digit during this period.

With the combined effect of several active weather systems simultaneously, cloud cover and possibly rain activities will start in Delhi from 3 February. But the rain will soak up the people of the capital the most on February 4 and 5. During these two days, light to moderate thunderstorms, lightning thunderstorms and hailstorms can occur in many areas of Delhi-NCR.

Base observatory of Delhi, Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 4°C today to observe 2nd consecutive cold wave day. Yesterday the mercury was a shade lower at 3.8°C in Delhi. The icy cold northwest winds from the hills start moving and increasing the cold over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and even Gujarat. Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are also vulnerable to these cold winds. Moderate to dense fog will remain in all these areas and the temperature will also be below normal, people will have to face the severe winter till the end of January.
