Base observatory of Delhi recorded the day maximum of 34°C yesterday, a temperature 5°C above the normal. The minimum temperature of Delhi this morning was also 5°C more than the average at 18.9°C. Many districts of Punjab may receive light to moderate rain and thundershower activities. Rain and thundershower activities will cover almost entire Haryana, Delhi as well as parts of West Uttar Pradesh by February 4th. The cold wave has abated from Delhi and the minimum temperatures all across Delhi NCR have slipped in to double-digit. Now Delhiites can expect some showers nearly after waiting for one month. Rain and thundershower in Delhi are likely to commence tomorrow in the latter half of the day and intermittent spells will be observed in the night.

With the combined effect of several active weather systems simultaneously, cloud cover and possibly rain activities will start in Delhi from 3 February. But the rain will soak up the people of the capital the most on February 4 and 5. During these two days, light to moderate thunderstorms, lightning thunderstorms and hailstorms can occur in many areas of Delhi-NCR.

The icy cold northwest winds from the hills start moving and increasing the cold over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and even Gujarat. Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are also vulnerable to these cold winds. Moderate to dense fog will remain in all these areas and the temperature will also be below normal, people will have to face the severe winter till the end of January.
